Muscle Flexibility

During pregnancy, breasts become larger which results in rounded shoulders and poor posture.  This results in tightness of the chest muscles. When the baby is born, the posture that the mother assumes for carrying, breastfeeding and bottle-feeding reinforces the rounded shoulder posture and encourages forward head posture. Forward head posture results in neck and shoulder muscle tightness which can eventually lead to headaches, joint pain and nerve damage. Excessive curvature in the low back, which occurs as the baby grows in size, results in tight low back muscles and hip muscles on the front of the body.
