Do You Have Text Neck – How To Fix Your Neck Posture

Do you have text neck? You may be asking yourself, "what is text neck"? Even though you can probably guess what it is based on the name, here is a definition of it from www.spine-health.com.  They define it as "Text neck is the term used to describe the neck pain and damage sustained from looking down at your cell phone, tablet, or other wireless devices too frequently and for too long" (https://www.spine-health.com/blog/modern-spine-ailment-text-neck).  With that in mind your, answer is probably yes if you have a cell phone, tablet, computer...or a baby of course!

Running can literally mean a headache for some moms especially if you have tight neck muscles that contribute to poor running posture like I did. A lot of moms have tight neck muscles, not only because of the posture that is assumed with baby handling and feeding, but because the posture is reinforced with social media usage and text messaging. According to Flurry analytics firm, as of 2017, the average U.S. consumer spends at least 5 hours per day on their mobile device. What stopped my headaches was doing the stretches that I am including in this post after I completed each run. Each stretch should be held for at least 30 seconds. Of course there other reasons that you could have a headaches after exercise including not eating enough beforehand which contributes to low blood sugar, not drinking enough water which can lead to a dehydration headache and muscle weakness that was not addressed after childbirth. Contact me if you have headaches and need help identifying the source. Happy Tuesday beautiful mamas! I hope this helps
